Jim Foy (Father)
Originally from Ohio, Jim has been blacksmithing for 33 years. He began his blacksmithing journey after learning to shoe horses in his late 20s. He competed in farriery competitions for over a decade. In 2008 Jim was the reserve national champion and team captain of the American Farriers Team that further went on to compete on an international stage. They finished 4th in the world overall. The art of blacksmithing was essential in these competitions which required the forging of various horseshoe designs and tongs under a strict time limit. The training to compete at this level required countless hours of forging in coal and gas. These skills heightened the depth of ability and attention to detail in what we create now as a blacksmith on a day-to-day basis.
